This is my third experience with UMVHC over 30 years and though I understand that not all outcomes are as we hope for, these people are pros and will give your pet the best care possible

What a great canine hospital. Dr's Skinner and Lee saved our Airedale's life by identifying her liver mass and performing difficult and timely surgery. After care instructions were easy to understand and the hospital provided all scripts before we left. Both doctors showed a great deal of compassion and understanding. The whole staff from reception, payment and "assistants" were professional.

My cat has been seen here off and on for 4.5 years for a chronic disease. For the first 2 years we went every 3 months for checks, driving from out of town. We loved the vet we saw then and the internist who oversaw the treatment. That vet saved my cat’s life. 4.5 years later she is doing really well with her chronic condition, despite that there was a strong chance she wouldn’t make it. In the last year she has lost weight and we took her back to get checked. The internal docs didn’t find anything to explain the weight loss and suggested she be seen by the dental department. We did that. It turned out she had some issues under the gums which were not visible, plus some broken teeth. She was in pain and eating was hard. I was terrified of the treatment because this cat had responded poorly to anesthesia in the past. However, the dentist was wonderful at explaining everything and reassured me that an anesthesiologist would be there making sure everything was ok (regular vets don’t have anesthesiologists). They ended up taking a bunch of teeth out. It’s been a few weeks now and the cat is doing great. I’m hoping she will gain weight back now that it doesn’t hurt to eat. I will mention that appointments take a long time. It’s a teaching hospital, so multiple people are looking at your pet. Also, if a life threatening emergency comes in, they have to take care of that. The whole dental team was wonderful. I intended to mention them by name but i lost the papers where i wrote them down! Definitely recommend this vet hospital. Thank you!
